(DS201) Foundations of Forecasting with Neural Networks

Begin your Journey into Predictive Neural Networks

Neural Networks are the "superpower" that will enable you to build the most effective predictive AI systems. Yet, there are many parameters you need to adjust to make neural networks useful for your specific forecasting problems. What are the best practices for developing Neural Network for forecasting?

This half-day introductory course (breakfast included) covers the fundamentals of Neural Networks (NNs) for forecasting. Through this course, you will be taken hand-in-hand using NNs to generate predictions. The goal of this course is to get you started using NNs for forecasting.

Class sizes are kept small to enable focused learning, so book early to avoid disappointment!

Who Should Attend

Although hands-on, we designed this course for non-programmers.The Autocaffe framwork makes definining and running complex models easy for non-programmers. Ideally, you want to learn more about AI-assisted forecasting.

Terra-AI.SG Certification

Each lab has a set of quizzes and learning goals. Participants successfully completing these goals will receive a Certificate of Completion.

However, this course also has a take-home component to be completed after the course. We award the best student submissions of this take-home project with a Certificate of Accomplishment, and a place in our Terra AI Hall of Fame online. We issue these certificates selectively only to the best student projects.


Samuel Wang holds a masters' degree in Physics from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a Data Scientist at Terra-AI.SG and will be the lead trainer for this AI Workshop. Samuel has contributed to the development of TW Caffe, our open-source fork of Caffe specifically aimed at timeseries forecasting. He also works on Autocaffe, a productivity tool to simplify deep learning on Caffe.

Arnold Doray holds a degree in Physics and masters in Knowledge Engineering from NUS. He leads product development at Terra-AI.SG and is the lead developer of Autocaffe and the Smojo Programming Language we use for data processing. Arnold is the alternative trainer for this course.
